Gonna be a hell of an environment

It’s going to be really confusing when someone looks up the history of Millett in a few decades and the all time attendance record is against a MWC team who was one of the worst teams in the country that year.

Not even Mountain West. Horizon. :joy::joy:

I keep forgetting they threw the rest of their athletics to the Horizon for the great distinction to be a MWC football doormat.

The existing attendance record is 10,634. Seems plausible that we beat that.

I’m not sure what the actual maximum allowed capacity would be, but we’d set the single season attendance record by averaging 10,978 the rest of the way.

When it was announced I saw a comment that it was an improvement for NIU because the Horizon League was higher ranked in the NET. Which was true, except that NIU was so terrible that if you took them out of the MAC average and stuck them in the Horizon then the stat immediately flipped to having the MAC be better by a larger margin.

This season the MAC is ahead by 30 spots on average even with NIU

They need a bigger bleacher behind the north basket

Probably showing my age, but when did they get rid of the old larger bleachers from the open end? It wasn’t that long ago was it? They also use to have the bleachers like they have in the open end now on the sidelines where the courtside seats are.

Can’t believe we’re thinking about how to get more seats in Millett for a basketball game.

I’ve asked that question on here a few times through the years Hoosier. No one seems to know where the old (and much larger) student section seats went. Would love to have those back.

Are you all talking about the red MIAMI bleachers? They were here through my senior year in 2016, I think they got rid of them during Owens. Larger aluminum bleaches were in the south end for a few seasons, those went away with Steele.

Only way we can fit 10K or more this weekend is if people are willing to sit in the far north sections and we allow SRO.

Quite honestly, they died. The larger bleachers were do longer safe to be used.

Owens had no bleachers, year 2 of Steele brought a small 3 row bleacher and then last year brought the bleachers that are there right now

I gotta think those bleachers would have completely crumbled and fallen in embarrassment if they saw the shot selection in the Owens era.

Owens was a step up from the group before him. Didn’t win the way he or we wanted but we looked competent at times. Almost beat UC. Beat GA Tech. Had some quality players.Just couldn’t get it going the way it is now. The Cooper squads were not good. Although, he did have a MAC frosh of the year so there’s that…

Sadly, Coop and Owens were major successes when compared to Don’t Read Well.

Maybe I’m needlessly glorifying the past, but the 14-15 and 15-16 Coop squads from my junior/senior years had just enough experience/talent that they could’ve finished in the upper half of the MAC with winning records. That core with Will Sullivan, Eric Washington, Geo McKnight, etc. wasn’t that good but they could’ve done more with a better coach.

It’s a totally blank period in my mind because there was nothing of note. No notable wins. No notable tourney runs. No big winning streak. I honestly don’t even remember any of it.

In honor of Harper’s degree ceremony today, I’m playing a game of NBA Jam with the Bulls. Even though I was a Pistons fan growing up.
