Frisco Football Classic Game Thread - Miami vs UNT

How about a little love for YanksAlex, Redsea, and myself for bringing home a win, lol. More latter when I sober up. Love and Honor.

27 first downs to 18. Equal passing yardage of 228 yards but we double them up on rushing yards with 198. Who would have ever guessed? So satisfying, wasn’t it, boys?

I also owe Bash at least 5 beers at next year’s bowl game.

Someone on the C-USA boards responded to a post-game post I had and said “Congratulations Miami. You have the better team and certainly the better coaches.” First time for everything lol.

Yeah, it ended up being 11K announced attendance. Even pure home games at Yager with that number don’t exactly feel like Death Valley, although it looked alright on TV since it was facing the NT sideline. It helped that it was played in a soccer stadium that holds 17K, not the Cotton Bowl.

It’s always fascinating to me how fans seem to multiply after a win. The whole DFW airport this morning feels like a Miami party. I swear there are more Miami fans just on this flight to Atlanta than we had in the stadium yesterday.

Just so proud of the team and Coach Martin and staff. Also proud of all the MHT’ers who went. Can’t wait for next year!

I forgot how cool it is to enjoy that feeling of victory the morning after a bowl game. It’s a good feeling. Let’s experience it again next year, and the year after that, and the year after that, etc.

And a tip of the cap to Rocky Boiman. The dude called sooooo many Miami losses at the start of his broadcasting career. It’s only appropriate he would be in the booth when we finally snapped our bowl victory and OOC FBS droughts.

The only thing last night was missing was a slightly affronted Danica Patrick.

…other tidbits that made a difference last night…how about Nicholson’s kicking? Drilled a couple of FG’s, one a long one and perfect on PAT’s along w good kick offs.

L&H: that announced attendance of 11K sounds about right…and it looked like that’s how many people were there, not tickets sold. The big North Texas turnout made for some positive images of the crowd size on the tube. Probably more butts in seats than many minor bowl games.

The Yahoo article that dubbed Boucher the true MVP (Most Valuable Playa) of that bowl season was fantastic.

Edit: Hot damn. Google is a wonderful thing…

Austin Boucher is the bowl season’s Most Valuable Playa

See Billy Clyde’s comment. Texas arrogance at its finest! Glad we stomped them. All hat and no cattle! Love and Honor!

If we’re a dog of a team, then what the hell does that make them?

I was also there and sat with a bunch of the parents. Great atmosphere, great weather, great game.

Four quick shout outs:

  1. Dom Nardone - around the ball 24/7. Great job stepping up with Salopek out.
  2. Nate Muersch - Mac / Coldiron out and he really stepped up. Weapon at TE
  3. OL - they didn’t have the best game but man they play their ass off. Super young and love to complete
  4. Coaching staff - very complete game from Chuck and staff. Got a bunch of young guys that I didn’t mention to step up for older injured players. Last drive on O was a thing of beauty.

Glad to finally win one!! Love and Honor!
