FAU’s new head coach is an air raid guy who initially recruited Veltkamp to WKU as OC. Would be a big upset for us to land him.
Will likely come down to who offers more of this:
I liked what little I saw of Hesson this season, but yeah if we can get an all-conference QB then we go all-in to get him. With all of our portal losses we need all the good hands we can get.
Did anyone on the zoom calls indicate how much NIL money we currently have raised for Football and Men’s Basketball? And did they state a goal for how much money they are trying to raise?
Yes, there is a history there with the new FAU coach but I think he was gone before Caden arrived on campus and went to Texas Tech.
FAU also graduated its two top qb’s from last year from a 3-9 team.
However, we have a history with him as well as we offered him out of high school.
He also might have a better chance at winning here next year than at FAU that finished 13th in AAC this year.
Caden was 2nd team All-CUSA this year.
It comes down to emojis???
Yes and mine are the best. The greatest.
This would be an exciting add.
Javon Tracy to Minnesota
I’m assuming the money reported for Virgil, 950K from Texas Tech. He is the #16 ranked WR in the portal per one service.
My completely as always uneducated guess is Tracy is getting 300-400K a year from Minny. Maybe even more, as he likely becomes one of their top 2 WR. Per the Daily Gopher:
“He committed to the Gophers on Sunday over offers from Michigan State, Indiana, Wisconsin, Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh, Iowa State, Boston College, Florida State, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Kansas, and Baylor. Tracy has two years of eligibility remaining.”
Will Jados is also committed to Texas Tech. You’re welcome for two starters, Red Raiders, thanks for nothing.
Virgil only has one year of eligibility left so I think it is for one year
Then they are paying him as a #1 or #2 WR. That is the going rate for that position. Good for Reggie. Get your bag!
Hopefully Chuck will AGAIN add key players as he has in this new world each season from the Portal
We have already had portal players on campus.
Having been to Lubbock once for work, all I can say is that I hope the money is good. Thankfully $900K goes a lot further in that dust bowl than it would in Berkeley or Seattle.
I hope I don’t offend anyone that might be from that “neck of the woods”, but in my travels I found West Texas and SW Oklahoma to be the most forlorn of hardscrabble looking landscapes. And hot! And windy! And I mean really hot!
As the song says: “Happiness is Lubbock, Texas in my rear view mirror.”
