If Miami (FL) leaves ACC, we would be the perfect add to replace them.

The Harrisonburg paper (home to JMU) reports that Sun Belt sources say multiple MAC schools have reached out with very preliminary interest. Ohio is the only one whose interest has been “official” enough to be named.
If the sun belt offer would include the top 3 MAC schools, it’s worth the investigation. The Belt has come a long way from the bottom feeder they were 20 years ago. Lots of schools investing in their teams.
If OU and anyone else left and it didn’t include us, it would put Miami and the remaining schools in a really bad position. Gotta be proactive here
I wonder if the AAC would be interested in replacing their “Cincinnati market” they lost

This is going to be unpopular but if our biggest in conf rival is looking to leave…we should definitely get out. I think SBC or AAC would be great

I wouldn’t mind if Ohio left. They could be our new out of conference rivalry game to replace Cincinnati. Ohio could be replaced by Western Kentucky then or even Illinois State or possibly Delaware. Would lessen the State of Ohio concentration in the MAC.

I assumed this was a nothing burger but they even talked about it briefly on 923 the fan tonight ( cle sports radio). I am surprised how much “press” it is getting. I am also surprised nothing more has come out one way or another from what seemed to start out as an internet rumor
Agree it’s getting a decent amount of run, but probably because we’re in the desert of sports media content (July) before football media days and camps bring something of substance
