With this year’s portal additions trying to come up with a likely two-deep depth chart is nearly impossible, at least that’s the way I see it.

I know nothing but I would expect the guy from Kent to move to nickel and start. i certainly agree with Grumpy on Mancore. I would expect Tommy G and McComb to share snaps until October and I expect Scoop Smith to be a returner

I definitely agree with Grumpy and Redsea. I would also put Yacamelli ahead of Jones.

Also I would lean toward Young as the starter over Coppess.

Yes, Young will be the starter at NB.
I am not high on either of the former Buckeyes’ chances. Agree w/ chorus on Malcore. He should be > Armstrong, though I expect him to slot in @ RT
My guess is some third receiver supplants Witten, but WR3 especially is anyone’s ballgame, so could be him.

For those more tuned in than I am: why no Beidatsch or Shahu in the theoretical 2-deep at OL?
Those guys (particularly Beidatsch) seemed like really productive FCS players that wouldn’t have necessarily transferred up without a reasonable expectation of playing time.

Seems to me (no inside info) like they should be. I’d have the 4 returners + Malcore as presumptive starters. And I’d guess:
Shahu, Lowry, Armstrong, Beidatsch, Lawhorn Moore, Butler
as the 6 pushing them for spots.
Fair points all around. The OL is three secure starters and 6-7 guys fighting for the rest. Phil Steele has Malcore at RT and Schorsh at RG. Steele has Trey Zvonar as TE1.

I hope so! Neither were extremely high recruits and didn’t really see the field at all. At OSU, obviously that’s a crazy high bar - but my general sense is to favor guys who saw the field where they were before.
