Yes. You do need to have a Miami degree to get a statue but don’t to have one to be a member of the Cradle.

Years ago, maybe 40 or so, I was told that Sid Gillman was not liked in town because of his “ defection “ to UC and that he left town still owing a number of people money.

Edit: I don’t know what he did or didn’t do. We’re approaching 80 years since he left Miami. He’s been dead for over 20 years. This feels like Miami’s own Pete Rose story. It feels weird for the all-time hit leader to not be in the Hall of Fame. It also feels weird for the creator of the modern passing game to not be included in the cradle. At some point, all the people who feel wronged will be gone and there will need to be a long, hard look to decide if the pettiness is worth it.

NYRedHawk: I was at Miami at the same time as your Dad in the 70’s. I can’t speak much to antisemitism on campus or the fraternities, but there were a number of guys that were Jewish at my frat (Delts). One of the guys in my pledge class went on to be a VP of Programming at NBC Sports.
