It hurts right now. That’s because we’ve all rekindled our love for this program. But it’s not going to hurt for long. An undefeated regular season. A conference title. And that amazing “home” game in Dayton to show the country what Miami basketball can do with passion on and off the court.
I know those guys are gutted about today, but I also hope they understand how much we appreciate what they’ve done this season and are already looking forward to what they can keep building here in Oxford.
And our talented women’s team plays tomorrow. It’s a great day to be a Miamian. Love and honor, folks.
Weird feeling after a loss, I just feel really good about this group of guys, I hope we can re-sign Travis so we can get this thing to a national stage but what a ride
When and where is the post season bballbanquet? Men and women, bigger than Szczerbiak banquet that max’d Millet!!! I’m in.!,$100 per person. Big Alums in attendance.
I wasn’t able to get to Spokane in 2007. I’ve been a March Madness addict for as long as I can remember. Even as a kid, before I really cared about the games, Selection Sunday fascinated me and I loved filling out brackets (that I made myself by taping together 4 pieces of loose leaf paper) each year as I tried to learn about these small schools with names that I’d never heard before.
I never attended a March Madness game before. I’ve had relatives with connections/positions with other schools who have asked if I wanted to travel to go to games in Boston, Providence, DC, etc. I’ve always said “Thanks but no thanks.”
I always wanted my first March Madness game to be Miami trying to knock off a big boy. I had the chance to experience that today. We all had the chance to experience the madness of March again thanks to this team. I will always be appreciative of every single person associated with this program this year for giving us all a reason to truly care about Selection Sunday again, for giving many of us a reason to make last-minute plans to travel by plane, train, car, whatever to root on this team in March Madness.
The undefeated regular season record is amazing. Hell, as it turns out we needed it just to earn that damn at-large bid. This team did it the hard way (and by “hard” I mean “nearly statistically impossible”) and I will forever be grateful for the 2025-26 Miami RedHawks Men’s Basketball Team.
I’m not really even sad. Yes, I would have loved for this dream season to continue, but this amazing group of guys accomplished more than I could have ever imagined. I am so thankful for the players and staff. Other than our graduating seniors, I hope everyone comes back so we can do this again!
Today doesn’t take away from what this team accomplished this year. What a ride. I wasn’t able to make it to Spokane but I wasn’t going to miss the next opportunity to see us in-person in the tournament. Thanks to everyone involved in the program for an incredible year.
If anything, it kinda kicked this f*cking program into the next gear. Hell, it kinda kicked this f*cking UNIVERSITY into the next gear.
Have a really good team. Get students and Butler County excited. Schedule interesting teams to come in to Oxford. Results in packed stadium, packed businesses and merch selling, national exposure on ESPN. Win, win and win.
This wasn’t a f*cking fluke. This year is the beginning.
