Keyon could hit 1,000 yards this year. If you look at his numbers, he’s just about averaging 100 per game for 5 games. Throw out NW, UC and ND where he wasn’t firing on all cylinders. But, if he can get a few big numbers over the last couple games he could raise those up and be there. Will need a couple buck fifty performances to do so. I think he can. Kevin Davis was Kevin Davis. Steady and good. Brunson is an enigma. Two games with giant runs. Hot damn if we had this early we’d have run over NW and prolly UC. Oh well, better late than never.
Chuck Martin in his best Josh Brolin: “I am inevitable.”
From an eyewitness perspective: Central was taking extra shots the whole game. There appeared to be a play that put Chuck over the edge. He was staring at the Central sideline, began gesturing, yelled at the refs then back to staring at their sideline. Eventually he ran halfway across the field to yell at them, drawing a flag. I hope he explains the reason this week. It’s a certainty that none of the media will bring it up.
While in the restroom at halftime overheard Brett’s father telling someone that the injury was to his non-throwing shoulder and that the X-rays were negative.
According to the participation report we played about 70 players today. Great for team morale!
Watch Chuck’s post game presser. The subject of the rift with the other sideline came up. There was definitely some chippiness going on. Watch how CM handled the question. Pretty funny…
We were on about the 50 yard line. Chuck lost his shit for sure!!!
I’ve never met him, but I think I would love him. I admire what he’s done.
Tragic. These students don’t have any idea what the college experience is about.
Well to be fair, not all are football fans. Our daughter, a sophomore , is enjoying her college experience at some college in Oxford, Ohio but couldn’t care less about the athletics. She’s been to a couple hockey games as she and her friends think the hockey players are cute. She would however have liked the commercials at the stadium for the College
Of Creative Arts. And if you happen to be in Oxford on Nov 20-24, you can catch her on stage in this. (Took this photo today at Bodega!)
My brother went to Ohio State and never attended a single athletic event. Some people, it’s just not their thing.
Apparently the part of “The Black Stache” steals the show
This is a few weeks removed from record student attendance. Today was bad but anyone at school now is statically more likely to go to a game than any time since 2003ish, which doesn’t speak well for the past 20 years of Miami football.
I would guess student attendance was about 100. Announced attendance for senior day, for the last Saturday home game of the year was 10,661.
It’s just hard to believe that no more than a couple hundred students out of 20,000 or so Miami students come to a game. Bet the house there were 5x more uptown at the bars. Really sad and disappointed.
Great job by the D after that first drive. They certainly answered the call
Having our students show up for exactly one football game per season is another sign the place is becoming more like Harvard or Duke.
More like my second school—Emory.
They did not even have intercollegiate athletics at all when I went to law school there in the 1970’s. Playing D3 now but no football.
That’s what struck me, Davearma…only a hundred or so students showed up. Now, we have had our ups and downs in terms of team performance with somewhat lagging student engagement, but for most of our history I would say we always had a thousand or so core students attend most every game (not including some meaningless anc cold November weeknight games). It’s almost unbelievable that we have so few students invested in going to a Saturday afternoon football game in good weather.
There was already a significant contingent at Brick Street before the game started. More than were at the game.
