Take care of business tomorrow since last 2 games are against good teams

If we don’t beat Kent we don’t deserve to go to a bowl.

USA Today (Nov. 19) has Miami in the Bahamas Bowl (Jan 4, 2025) against Sam Houston State.

I would love that! I’ve heard their mascot Yosemite Sam puts on a dangerous halftime show.

Not to be overly picky, but prefer other opponents over the newbie FBS division San Houston and company.

Still saw one prediction w us vs. Michigan State in Detroit but suspect the players wouldn’t be too excited about playing there.

It seems the Detroit bowl always favors Toledo, BG, or one the three Michigan directional schools for attendance purposes.

Yeah I have seen EMU penciled in there on a couple of projections…not sure if they will make it to 6-6 record or not, tho

Totally agree with you. These (like SHSU) are programs that have diluted the FBS world and I would prefer AAC or MWC match up or even lower P2 team bowl. This really has little upside for us besides a trip to a warm location That would not be an ā€œexcitingā€ bowl matchup in my mind.

I would love all of these.

  1. a date I could attend
  2. an opponent we match up well with
  3. warm weather

I don’t want much, do I.

Did you ever watch Bugs Bunny? If yes, you know Yosemite Sam is dangerous AF. The guns+dancing alone make the halftime show must see tv. I hear you on FCS newbie, but I’m telling you dangerous=eyeballs on screen ultimately that’s a good thing for us.

SHSU won an FCS national championship in the spring 2021 season and is 8-2 this year with a couple pretty good wins. They are not one of the programs diluting the brand.

Going to be an interesting bowl selection year!

This morning there are already 77 bowl eligible teams for 82 bowl slots. 17 more teams have five wins with at least one game left to play. It seems almost certain that a couple 6 win teams will be left out of the post-season party. I’m glad we’re currently sitting on 7 wins.

Let’s make it 9!

It’s nice knowing that once again we don’t need to do a breakdown of every game featuring a 5-6 team to figure out which teams need to lose.
