Pretty good match up for that bowl. Suspect Buffalo will have their hands full in that game.
P.S. saw a couple of predictions that Buffalo may get the Detroit Bowl slot… obviously not. Who will be the lucky squad vacationing indoors for the holidays? Maybe UT??
Hey look! It’s definitely the nation’s top two tacklers! Yep, nothing fishy about that at all. Just the top two tacklers in all of college football playing on the same team. Don’t ask any questions. They sure do have a lot of tackles.
Liberty wont have their starting quarterback- he is in the portal
If anyone is seeing the gnashing of teeth from the Big12 fans. I ran a quick analysis using the hockey at-large selection criteria for RPI. That one is objectively straight forward. SOS is also a criteria but not sure who’s to use
So just based on RPI……here is the priority for selecting the following schools:
Indiana - 90395
Arizona St - .89493
BYU - .88784
Miami - .87483
Iowa St - .87343
South Carolina - .86335
Ole Miss - .86227
Bama - .85477
Boise - .84486
This presumes Arizona St and Boise win their champ games.
CORRECTION: The last 2 in would be Indiana and BYU over Bama, Miami and Ole Miss
Brett McMurphy is doing almost daily bowl prediction updates as match ups are being announced. He tends to be pretty knowledgeable.
He still has us in the Arizona Bowl as a 3.5 point favorite over Colorado State. Again, good locale, date, and opponent.
He has BG in the Ventures Bowl in Mobile, NIU out west to the Potato Bowl, OU in the Cure Bowl (watch out for rain! ), and UT “home” in the Detroit Bowl.
Wouldn’t be shocked if these are fairly accurate, and as Dick mentioned in earlier post the outcome of MACC may determine exactly where we end up but doubt we’d be headed back to Cure Bowl again. Maybe Ventures Bowl. The Dec. 28 date, likely perfect weather, and good MWC opponent in Tucson sound really good to me.
With two elementary aged kids into Disney and Harry Potter, my pocketbook would never recover from back to back Cure Bowls.
Myrtle is at the top of my list with Arizona second.
As a single guy with no kids, my bank account wouldn’t survive consecutive Cure Bowls.
I can’t afford a new set of typhoonwear.
Hawk talk was hard to hear last night but Chuck Martin said BG was going to Detroit and we were going somewhere warm
Yep but Buffalo “off the board”, gonna be UT or BG. I was thinking BG may be the better team and with Fannin might get the nod over Toledo for a more desirable warm weather destination.
BG playing in Detroit 2 years in a row?
I think it’s UT -and possibly NIU.
Didn’t realize BG went to the Motor City last year…you would think that would cinch it for them to go elsewhere. Toledo the obvious choice if butts in seats are even considered anymore.
NIU the western most MAC team, which always seems to have the prognosticators pencil them in Idaho, but I doubt any MAC schools would take many fans out there in the winter. ( I am not knocking Idaho as I spent quite a few years living out west, and it’s beautiful country as is Montana. But it can be very cold that time of year.)
Probably 40 and 30 in Boise during Christmas week with a chance of snow showers. About the same forecast as Oxford. Better weather than Detroit but at least Ford Field is indoors.
Tucson is currently 70 all week on the other hand
Yep…And zero possibility of a monsoon.
Bowls don’t give a shit about a tight end playing (which I would bet he doesn’t dress anyway).
I think he plays a quarter to get his 11 yards for the TE receiving yards record then sits out the rest
If they are presumably picking between Toledo and BG, what do they give a shit about then?
