Brett McMurphy reported that it’s Rice. The fact that Rice might get in rather than Auburn or Florida State has united the Auburn and Florida State fan bases.
The Athletic has us predicted against So Miss in the Ventures Bowl. Not a bad spot and match up.
Some of the actual pairings are being picked up. Cal will be playing Hawaii in Honolulu.
You’d think many of the G5 bowls would be fairly much figured out by now. Not sure if winning the MAC even affects our bowl slot.

Yeah. IDK. I think the only options you can rule out are bowls we’ve been to in the past two years.
Sporting News now projects us to be in the Salute to Veterans bowl against Utah State. Not bad but the date is December 16th which is way too early.
Somewhat off topic. I used to love getting the sporting news when it was a print edition each week. No longer.
75Redskin: we both came from an era of print news only. Not only did I get the Sporting News and Sports Illustrated, in the years right after I graduated from Miami I lived in Pasadena, CA and Denver, I subscribed to the Sunday Cincinnati Enquirer.
For all those 6 years I got the Cincinnati Enquirer to read about Miami sports results, especially hoops and football. It arrived by mail around the Wednesday afterwards.
When every projection has us some place different, then the projections mean nothing.

Me too. They printed each MLB team’s individual player stats, just like the Sunday sports section of major newspapers.

Oh yes! Name from the past. Enquirer sportswriter covering the Redskins.
Here’s another one: Dick Forbes lived around the corner from us in Terrace Park. As you may recall he covered the Bengals for the Enquirer. His wife was a registered nurse who would give me allergy immunity shots every month. (and I still get them even today!)

Bill Ford was a character. The last time I spoke to him, he implored me “use your damn Finance degree, and forget about the Journalism degree.” This advice, of course, was while he was poking his finger in my chest!
