Alumni newsletter says that new Cradle of Coaches-themed uniforms will debut for the Toledo game and coincide with a fan blackout.
Are we finally getting the black jerseys that first generated speculation back in 2002?
And here they are. Maybe not a great fit for Miami, but overall they look sharp in an old school Atlanta Falcons kind of way.

So sick!!!
This old guy likes this look. Now just play as good as you look.
Obviously not an every week look but definitely a cool look for one night game a year.
The more I look at it the more I like it, the vertical shoulder stripe looks ball state-ish but the gold accents really pop.
And yet our colors are red and white. Certainly something could be done with those colors. Instead, we become UC.
Ahem, bronze
Lol
I’m with Skin66. They have flash now for a bit more substance.
Ticket sales look light on the website so far
There is a deal for that game, or was. Not sure it works but worth a shot.
Bummer, had to purchase by 11/4 ![]()
I’ll take it. As HH mentioned, it works as a limited alternative.
I used it. Almost everything is wide open.
Early weather forecast is cold
Blackout theme makes sense given how people also usually wear dark coats for chilly weeknight games.
Also, additional funding available for student orgs based on attendance at next week’s game:

Let’s work with red and white and the block M.. Why do we always have to look like somebody else? We are Miami.
And yet look at the turnout for tonight’s App State home game. And they’re not close to a metro area of a couple million people. Sad to see such disinterest in Miami football.
Plus they are only 4-4 this season—yet they still draw the crowds
I’m not gonna excuse our poor fan interest and attendance, but App State is not an apples to apples comparison. A program that spent years as an FCS powerhouse and has way less in-state competition is going to have a much different level of support. One only needs to look at our friends in Athens for what can be done in somewhat similar circumstances.
