Me thinks the homage line has a typo. In the context of that sentence it should be “A” not “An”

It “A” if you pronounce the H in homage; “An” if you don’t. I love this kind of stuff.

My ancient Strunk & White style guide is my trusted source. The internets lie because the robots are evil and will eat your face off if you let them.
There’s also the “common usage” argument (which I don’t always buy): If enough people say it a certain way, even if gramatically incorrect, it gets accepted by dictionaries, etc.
