It’s not. It ties the record set by the 1983-84 Miami team, which finished 24-6. Two of those wins came in the MAC tournament and a third came against Ohio Wesleyan during the regular season
Pretty sure we had the arena packed with some Harper games. OU triple OT game is one I think was close to full capacity. A thriller! Also Harp vs Kenny Battle was another big crowd, maybe even real tv? Back to back 360 dunks!
I wasn’t counting the tourney. Just the regular season. We win the MAC we hit 24 D1 wins. We win any games after that, wow, I don’t even want to get that far ahead.
Open Q, if we keep our guys should we bring back the CC death march? Only way to get an at large bid?
I say yes!
Yes, I know you weren’t counting post-regular season wins. You claimed that 21 D-1 regular season wins was a new record. It is not. It ties the regular season D-1 win record set by the 1983-84 team
Right, but I studied adult films, not math.
We’ve had over 10,000 at Millett. Look at the top crowds on the Millett website (facilities)
I think the “capacity” is with sections tarped off/not sold
Basketball had to have made the u some money this year. Ticket sales had to be up. And concessions/merch.
Here is why I am skeptical
Miami announces 7,889 vs Ohio. Boals is dismissive of the crowd
Ohio announces 7,891 vs Miami. Two more than Miami come on man
Then we announce 7,893 vs ball state. Two more again?
Some amazing coincidences with those numbers
10,600 + vs. UC in 76.
Crowd was LOUD! Catlett, of course, wore a goofy tie (This pic was not from UC game though).
I think it’s because maybe it counts tickets sold. When Miami gives out free tickets Crawford buys all the tickets
What a great way to honor our 1 senior. Again, mad props for Luers to be ready to play being the 10th guy. Suder or no Suder on Thursday, I think Luers earned some minutes with the toughness and smarts he brings to the table. I think he’s a good fit to play against Eastern, at least a little.
I liked how we attacked the defensive boards for most of the game. The ball moved: 18 assists on 30 made field goals. We only had 9 turnovers tonight. We were really solid. The jumper by Skaljac at the end of the half was really impressive. Most freshmen would’ve shot it immediately after getting control. He had the wherewithal to take 2 dribbles and free himself up even more. Ipsaro put his imprint on this game with his driving and passing. Elmer and Potter were great around the basket. We need that from Woolfolk on Thursday.
Win Thursday. Don’t think about your seed. Don’t think about the path. Just win on Thursday because that would be a big step forward since we haven’t won on Thursday for so long. We’ve had a good year. Make it a really good year by winning on Thursday.
Am I correct that with Mr. Luers performance last evening we have had 10 different players be the leading scorer in a game?
This is partially correct. Luers wasn’t the leading scorer against BSU; he had 18 while Craft had 19. However, Luers was our leading scorer against Defiance (20), and we have had 10 different leaders scorers this season per the ESPNU broadcast.
Sounds like a pretty deep team…
Which means half of the leading scorers came off the bench. This team is deep.
Nice to see us look like a well oiled machine in a game we didn’t need but BSU did. We also got a lot of love from the announcers. On to Cleveland!
I agree with this. Besides the staged half time show the game announcers were 95% focused on our game or our league
