Attendance woes

We should host a postgame concert at the stadium for another Saturday home game. May not be able to afford as big of a name as the usual Family Weekend comedian, but would be a fun event and help keep fans at Yager the entire game.

Or even just a post game fireworks show

Nice crowd! Great win!

I think we would have way better attendance if our games didn’t always have 10-15 delays because the ref has to yell at the clock operator who appears to have never done that job before. Seriously, fire that person ASAP.

It’s a 17,996 fan improvement over the week before. That’s a win.

Yeah when we played WMU on parents weekend in 2022 I believe it was over 22k

11,000 more than the week before. Which is pretty sad when you think about it.

Goggin better be rocking for a potential ranked battle against big name ASU

I mean…it will be halloween. Bet the students will be out partying and it’s probably right at trick or treating time for families. Maybe Saturday

Are we making any special efforts / reach outs to MU alumni in a 75 mile radius of Oxford including use of the alumni club system? Do we have a comprehensive marketing plan with professional input? Have we reached out to youth football leagues and area high school football teams ? If not the traditional large band day what about invitation to two or three select bands per home game? What type of ticket promotions do we have with area employers for their employees to attend? Etc. Saylor does good work in a number of areas but marketing is a major weakness for not only FB but all sports. One additional thought - what about asking all alums to buy at least one set of tickets for one home FB, BB and hockey game and visit the campus at least one time a year ( in addition to potentially buy season tickets and/ or making financial contributions to the program ) - esp for alumni within easy driving distance of Oxford?

The geniuses at Miami decided to have alumni day in the summer when no sports is on, probably shows you the priorities of some in administration

I have been to a couple of alumni weekends. We were all housed in dorms. Having it (the alumni weekend) during the school year isn’t feasible. It is really done well. Utilized many dorms and classrooms.

Every home game should be an alumni day.

Uptown is tough competition that only an edict from Mom and Dad weekend can force Jr’s showing up.

Maybe they can partner with Hamilton or other nearby cities and have shuttles so people can stay there and get to Oxford easily

They could build a hotel on Cook Field to help with hotel availability.

Nah…that would never work…
