My understanding is the Amtrak station is definitely happening, which is cool, but will involve trains (in either direction) that stop around 2am unless Amtrak significantly changes the Cardinal line schedule, so I’m not sure how much ridership it will actually see.
Yes, the Amtrak station is happening. None of us may live to see it.
Or More Beer. That one kills two birds with one stone.

It would almost be just as fun to think of songs they should never play.
The Theme from The Crying Game. Super Freak by Rick James. Most of Ween’s cannon.
ps, Rick James is so nasty and pervy he went to jail. Question: how freaky must that lady have been for Rick of all people to be like “she’s a super freak.” And by that extension, “she’s a-ok in Rick’s book.”
How about Hold me closer, Tony Danza by Elton John?
As to Number 8 on your wish list… the Governor of the State of Ohio appoints the trustees. If you have an in with the Governor (major political donor, perhaps?) you might throw your name into his/her hat.
If I had an “in” with the governor, Andy Dufresne wouldn’t have had to escape from Shawshank State Penitentiary.
What if Swoop made in an entrance by rappelling from a a phalanx of helicopters as Ride of the Valkyries played at high decibel levels? That would be pretty cool IMO.
The music would start and then you’d start hearing the rotors in the distance and things would take off from there.
What if swoop was tar and feathered. (Now I know that sounds off-putting and disrespectful, but I’ll ask you indulge me here.) Swoop’s current garmento is so threadbare he looks like he’s been plucked. The extra feathers sticking to him via the tar only help him look less molted. Also, every time we score a TD he does a snow angel on the opposing team’s turf leaving an oily sheen that’s impossible to remove. We own the teams long after we play. 5-0 lead on the Buckeye’s after Q1? There would be a brown smudge still on the turf in Columbus if I had my way.
Thanks, you learn something new every day. I won’t ask him for the moon, but getting trustees who know the name of our DI men’s basketball coach isn’t too much to ask for.
Also some marketing efforts for this weekend with a Nutrl partnership. I will say that marketing for select games has gotten better since my 2012 freshman year (especially the social media team) but it’s still very inconsistent, though I’d be willing to bet lack of resources is a big constraint

I can think of one Jimmy Buffett song they would never play.
I know which one you are referring to!
Fruitcakes would be another.
I’m new to the Miami football scene (daughter is a freshman). Does the university support any community events at games? Any local youth sports programs or local school days? I went to Ohio University (don’t shoot me!) and they have tons of events that bring in the local community groups. A lot of the programs they do are very popular. The Athens area does not have the population or money that that the Oxford area has. Again, maybe Miami does these events, I don’t know.
I also think the ticket prices hinder the casual fan from attending games. Lower the prices some and enhance the in game environment and sell more stuff at the concessions (don’t know anything about this, either).
Invite all the local HS bands. Family and friends will attend as well.
I agree with Band Day. This hasn’t happened in years. I don’t know why since the stadium usually has one FCS game per year with low attendance.
Ticket prices between OU and Miami are nearly identical. OU does have a $20 option in the corners.
Our FCS game should always be Band Day.
—and any other ” day” we can bring back or make up to put people into the stadium.
