I’ve been saying this all season: A team (Miami) can have a weak schedule and also be good.
We are also up to 238 votes in the AP.
Hopefully a few of them watched Friday night.
Take that, AJ Dybantsa!

2/16 AP ranking of Miami @ 22 now ties the highest ranking with Wally.
Congrats to whole program. Has to be added pressure to remain unbeaten
They still haven’t played anyone good except Akron buffalo twice
Buffalo is 8th in the MAC
Cry about it.
Go fuck yourself respectfully
He clearly doesn’t know ball.
Here is the thing: he didn’t want Travis. Okay, fine. You’re entitled to your opinion and there is no guarantee with any new coach who is hired. But what would ANY other coaching candidate have been able to do that Travis “the man of” Steele hasn’t done this season? A combination of James Naismith, Phog Allen, Adolph Rupp, Dean Smith, and Mike Krzyzewski would still only be able to match what Travis has done up to this point.
theman2 has no situational awareness and no doubt has never provided any type of support for Miami including any financial support - Big Hat ( maybe ) and no cattle!
Yeah, it wasn’t an uncommon opinion on MHT during the Steele coaching search that he wasn’t a great hire. After all, how would a guy who didn’t even make the tourney at X (who had won for decades before him) succeed at a dead end like Miami? I was probably in that group, I preferred Pedon at the time. People shouldn’t care about being wrong when it results in something good, we’re 25-0 and about to make it 26.
This is the first time in Miami history we’ve been ranked 5 weeks in a season. Three in ‘99, 1 in ‘78, 1 in ‘71, and 2 in ‘53.
The only other times a MAC team has been ranked 4+ weeks in a single season since tournament expansion in ‘85:
We’ve now passed OU in ‘95 (4 weeks) and Ball St in both ‘02 and ‘89 (4 weeks), and only behind Buffalo in ‘19 (19 weeks).
The MAC is a very different conference than it was in the 80s, 90s, and even 00s, but this team is with some historic company.
Steele’s name being mentioned as candidate for K-State. Schertz from SLU seems to be preferred choice.
I was afraid of that.
