UD was/is a great arena and was such a good home and home we need to get that back at least once per year. I loved twice per year.
I was in high school then. Went with my mom and my sister and had seats about as high up as you can get them. With about a minute left we started talking about plans for the second round game. If I believed in jinxes I would say the meltdown was our fault, lol.

One of my favorite stories. My wife (not a Miami grad)and I were walking up the steep aisle at Dayton Arena before tipoff, looking for our seats. She got impatient and grabbed the tickets from my hand and decided to have that red coated usher up several rows help us find the seats. Before I could stop her, she had accosted the “usher” - Phil Shriver.
And of course he gladly helped her find the seats.
A fine, fine man! We hosted him and wife Martha for a visit in Seattle. I showed her the sights while he attended meetings.
