Warren is listed as a Nickel on the depth chart. I think he’s flexible enough to play both if needed.

Maybe but when injuries hit they moved Mike Brown to Corner instead of Warren

Mike Brown was moved there with the injuries because nickel allowed him to focus more on the run instead of coverage and Singleton does better in coverage than Brown. It was a win-win. The responsibilities of the nickel are closer to a safety than a CB.

I was pretty sure they moved Brown to starting CB not nickel for the last weeks of the regular season. I am sure that is what Martin said at the banquet too

We’ve offered Georgetown OL Mac Hollensteiner. He’s got several other offers so far from UConn, Colorado, ECU, Rice, and most of the MAC.

Miami adds 6’5 220 DL Brady Villa as a PWO. Brady did have at least a partial scholarship opportunity from Butler, but is choosing to walk on at Miami.

Fun bit of the Miami coaching tree intersecting, Brady Villa was offered a scholarship to play at Butler by former Miami grad assistant Logan Plumley. Plumley is currently the linebackers and secondary coach there and gave a nice congrats to Joe Bowen on his return to Miami on twitter.

Politely, why would we offer a tight end with Army and Ivy offers? We have Simmons and Duncan signed, along with 3 scholarship tight ends on the roster that fill that need nicely, on top of the blocking tight ends we have.
We could better use those scholarships elsewhere.

Maybe we don’t think he’s a TE? I mean we were “shopping” at his HS, right…usually don’t end up there due to PWO, maybe I guess…just wondering if we were looking at both.
Army is a commitment, maybe we think he’s a DE too or a TE (PWO)…stranger things have happened.
Army thinks he’s good enough to play and then there’s this: Selection, 4.47 GPA, 1350 SAT, 6’4”220, 4.68 40 Yd Dash, 8’ 11” Broad Jump, 31” Vt Jump (looks like a nice DE conversion).

Service academy offers aren’t great to go off of. They have no limit on the number of scholarships they can give out. On Army’s still incomplete roster, there are 6 numbers where 3 players are wearing the same jersey number. For one of those, two linebackers are wearing the same number even.
It’s not like the staff hasn’t seen him play since his teammate is coming over as a PWO.
Also the academies have strict height/weight requirements if I recall correctly, anyone they offer will need to meet them first.

And Army might be able to have out unlimited scholarships and have no limit on the size of their roster, we do. Aside from being capped at 85 scholarships, we can’t have more than 115 on the roster. We are loaded with walk-ons for TE with 10 total on the roster next year. We have 18 defensive linemen; most are ends and most are underclassmen. Go through Hudl for 30 minutes and you can find 15 kids who are that size with those measurables. This isn’t the 80’s where any big kid on a high school roster gets a free pass to the Big 10. We still have scholarships available if either of those are a position of need.
If it was the 80’s, I’d have better hair. Just sayin’
