Blyden, not Blythe.
I agree with the need for these rules, but this is by far NOT an excellent use of our tax dollars. Congress needs to actually stick to doing their own job and not this which the NCAA failed miserably doing years ago.
The NCAA is a detestable organization, but the current chaos has all been created by courts, which means the solution is going to have to be legislative.
What tax dollars are going to Tubervilleās bill as written? The costs are basically getting absorbed by the players since their salaries will be stunted by only allowing one transfer.
I agree that there are ābetterā things for Congress to legislate on, but at this point itās become a nearly non-functioning body regardless of party in power. If they can succeed in passing any legislation to regulate a billion dollar industry that directly impacts the entire higher education system, Iām not gonna oppose it on those grounds. It should be debated on whether or not itās good legislation, which is a completely separate debate.
NCAA V ALSTON (2021) may come into play with this Tuberville Student Athlete Act of 2026. I wonāt go into any extended legal arguments other than to raise the Alston decision. I will leave legal discussions to the legal experts on this board.
Do you know how much he is getting?
No idea. But the majority of WSUās scoring and rebounding were recruits to WSU. Only the point guard transferred in from Ball State. With Pickett staying, it could push the remaining members of the team to stick around Fairborn for another run.
They were so close with UVA in the tournament.
I also know after the 2022 NCAA team that won at UD Arena and then got picked apart, WSU went into a study to see how to generate enough NIL money to keep these players from transferring out. They may have something to do with it as well.
Didnāt realize he was at Ball State his freshman year. On to his 3rd school in 3 years. ![]()

He seemed like the type of guy who Steele was talking about when he would mention players who care less about winning a just want to inflate stats to up their portal price the next year.
