They suck for reasons nothing to do with politics. I don’t even think I’d consider Whitlock conservative (he’s certainly anti modern espn so maybe that makes you conservative?) and have zero idea on Dakichs politics. He’s just an asshole.

6’9 F from Carmel. Had a Miami offer out of HS
Not a fan at all of the whole transfer portal idea. Every time I open this thread I cringe, worrying about what I’m going to see. How about allowing one transfer without sitting out a year, after that sit out a year. This 4 schools in 4 years …Heck five schools in 5 years….is just not what college basketball was meant to be. NIL has changed everything. Have we reached the point of no return?
Now get off my lawn.
I like both Whitlock and Dakich.
Why? They both were big advocates of Miami down the stretch.
They also both have MAC ties. Ball State and BG.
Not for nothing but we started to run out of steam once those two grievance grifters jumped on the band wagon
I’ve said it before: the only good thing about Dakich is that while he was a losing interim coach at Indiana, he was lucky enough to have Travis Steele as an assistant.
There’s exactly one more good thing about Dakich: he said Charlie Coles was one of the three best coaches he ever coached against.
=>Dakich is an asshole. His schtick is over the top.
That said, I find him so effing entertaining. He was my all time favorite analyst on ESPN - SHOWMANSHIP + GAME TEACHING. I learned so much more about basketball watching him cover games.
I am a coaching sponge. I have prolly 40 coaching licenses and certifications for soccer, basketball, and general sports. I love to attend seminars to listen to other coaches. Whenever I was an assistant coach, I learned everything I could from the head coach. When I was the head coach, I always asked my assistants for their thoughts. I just loved learning.
Dakich was the best teacher/showman analyst. Just loved everything put out.
I live in Cincy, but used to listen at lunch his radio show out of Indy.
I was in Oxford as an undergrad when Dakich was at BG.
He was called JockItch on MHT and everyone here hated him.
=>Might as well make a MAC Portal List:

Actually it’s not the money. He just is admitting that it’s pointless to go up against the RedHawks.
