Seems like it’s simply based off the teams NET/KenPom rankings
Wally just gave Miami a big time plug from the desk between the two CAA semi games on CBSS.
I like the way Coach Steele conducts himself in these interviews/press conferences.
I like the way he mentioned EMU but he focused more on the overall process of putting yourself in a position to succeed numerous times in Cleveland. Obviously EMU is the main focus because if you don’t win Thursday it’s all a moot point anyway but the next step is to have the program’s mindset be that we need to be mentally and physically prepared for several consecutive days of high-end basketball.
I like the question and answer on when did the team start to believe that we could be really good? People have asked me that many times this season and Coach had the same answer I did. That Florida tournament, we had a much better crowd than the other teams and we were packed in behind the team and we were making a lot of noise and the bench was making a lot of noise and the players and assistants were getting excited and it was just a different feeling than we have had around here for a long time. Peter Suder played so hard and so physical and the rest of the guys followed right along. Since then it has just continued to build. I am more optimistic heading to Cleveland than I have been for a long time, plus I have the feeling that this team is going to be even a lot better next year.
I think we are going to the show.
That’s what I think.

I agree. I was seated by the legendary Dick in Ft. Myers, and as usual he has it right. The enthusiasm by the team was big, our fans actually outnumbered those of the other teams, and we were more energized. I spoke with Coach Steele and his wife after we were awarded the trophy, and she mentioned this, too.
How are the young members of Miami’s team doing in the Tournament atmosphere? “They’re like a new puppy when you get it home . . . it can have an accident on the carpet.” LOL this should keep the players laughiing and loose.
Before they replaced the steel plate in my head with a plastic one, I did the same thing on the carpet every time the wife turned on the microwave.
What is…Christmas Vacation?
Troy won the Sun Belt over Arkansas State by 13 tonight. UVM is 21-11 now and has won 12 of their last 14 games. The Catamounts host Maine in the American East semis tomorrow.
That makes one of our wins better and one of our losses not as bad.
“Tell him what he’s won, Johnny.”
“Yellow Number Five’s beloved Miami Redhawks are going to mop the floor with EMU in Cleveland!”
I’ll take the showcase showdown where we run the zippers out of Cleveland for the title!
That Troy win, even at home, was a very good one.
I will be there with friends on Thursday and, hopefully, Friday.
Plan to make the pregame at Harry Buffalo, too.
With travis as coach i would not be shocked if we lose game 1
You know what I admire about you, theman? It’s your eternal optimism, and general positive disposition.
