247 Sports had Ben Minich as a 4-star, 19th rated safety in the class out of high school. Nice pickup.

Weaver transfer does not make sense- did we offer him comparable money? If yes why would he leave ? Coaching issues? Play calling?

We do not have the same NIL money as Syracuse. Also remember Syracuse opted in for revenue sharing across all sports totaling over $20 million. Doubt Miami is anywhere near that.

This sets up to quite possibly be a hallmark case in terms of the enforceability of contracts.

Unfortunately, kids see the Power 4 tag and think it’s going to be a lot better opportunity.

Looks like we secured our replacement for Terrill!

Older write up sounds like a hard worker.

We really need immediate help in the secondary, so this looks like a good pickup for us. Minch was highly regarded for his speed (not size) coming out of high school, and had a number of P4 offers. At ND, he was on special teams and a backup in the secondary. Hopefully his speed will make him a credible starter for us in the MAC. I believe he has two years of eligibility left.

Zero surprise as he is from Pittsburgh. Good spot for Raion.

Having him back in the fold along with these 2 safeties we have picked up in the portal pretty much solidify that position. Glad Mychal is back.

He had brokered a contract for Williams worth $4-5 million with UW. It had a no transfer type clause of some sort. Two days after Williams signed it he was apparently offered $6 million to go play for Kiffin at LSU and tried to enter the portal. Washington has refused and is taking legal action to enforce the contract. It kind of mirrors Wisconsin’s still unresolved suit over the transfer to Miami of Florida.

This is an interesting one to me. Yarbrough was great when he first got on campus. He was an utter liability last season coming off injury. I really hope the coaching staff credibly believes he can regain his old form. Otherwise, this was a spot I was hoping to improve.
