I’m not a big fan of Dawn Staley but your statement is spot on. I’m TEAM GENO AND TEAM GLENN!
Women’s basketball is a powerhouse. And South Carolina football does have a Heisman winner.
I wonder what the average tenure of fired head coaches is in the past few years and how it compares to 10, 20, and 30+ years ago.
RB correct, SC?
Rogers
Their baseball team is quite good over their SEC tenure as well, baseball means a lot in the SEC
Yeah they aren’t that far removed (2010 and 2011) from back-to-back CWS titles.
They also create the opportunity for a bunch of southern frat boys to wear COCKS hats without any worry of shame or disrepute… that alone probably justifies their SEC membership.
That is who I thought when I said RB. Great college back.
Their baseball park is world class.Ive been there for the NCAA Regionals..
The best USC T-shirt I saw was a rooster wearing a jock strap with the caption, “Cock Supporter”
only if yanks could get the credit
Cool!
And I was actually trying to play the Airplane! bit of “Roger Roger” with my Rogers reply. Terrible joke on my part
Franklin would be a great hire anywhere.
The Knight Commission has been tracking spending on coach severance payments for the last several years, showing that spending has increased every year since COVID-19, hitting a whopping $126.7 million across FBS in fiscal year 2024. The buyouts for the 12 coaches fired so far this year will surpass that.
BGSU fired their OC yesterday.
I didn’t see any of their last two games, but it seems as if he was working with the 3rd and 4th qb’s and perhaps deserved a little slack.
Fickell is supposedly safe. Is Wisconsin cheap, are there no interested candidates, or both? I thought he’d work out in Madison but I guess his run at UC was carried by his assistants and being able to develop a roster in the pre-NIL/portal world.

Dang those already crazy alcohol sales at Camp Randall are going to go through the roof…
IU’s Curt Cignetti has a better record in 2 years (20-2) than Fickell has in THREE (15-19).
2 years ago, no one would have expected IU to be in 2nd place nationally while Wisconsin gets crappier.
I think Wisconsin looked at all the other openings and figured it would be best to wait a year.
