2025-26 Coaching Carousel

Another one bites the dust - OK State fires Mike Gundy.

Oregon State fires coach after 0-7 start and it appears Penn State is parting ways with Franklin after they lost to Northwestern at home.

Dilfer done

Jonathan Smith out at Michigan State.

That’s Franklin, Dilfer, Bray, and Smith today.

Is this official?

I see a lot of clamor for it but no announcement. His buyout seems to be the key issue.

Joel Anderson from the Ringer was had by a fake a tweet and I was similarly had by his chiming in.

Oklahoma State

Oregon State

Penn State

Stanford

Virginia Tech

UCLA

Smith isn’t doing great but MSU’s problems are with their admin and their awful NIL funding (for Big Ten standards). Firing a second-year coach who found a way to win at Oregon State in the 2020s probably isn’t gonna do much especially in what’s already a busy carousel.

James Franklin would do great at Purdue

Does Fickell make it to Halloween?

Outscored 71-0 in the past 2 games.

Yeah I’m pretty sure him or Napier (or both) could get the ax today.

Florida, like Texas, and a couple other states, are hotbeds of talent. And yes, Florida also has several FCS teams, but it is hard to fathom how much the Gators have struggled the last few years. I agree, can’t see Napier being around much longer.

Napier seemed as resigned to his fate in his post game presser as any coach I’ve ever. I would be surprised if he makes it to Monday.

Mike Norvell just put a reservation in for the sled on the carousel cause he’ll be on it for a whike

Didn’t he win this weekend?

I don’t think barely beating Miss State is going to buy him anymore time.

Napier is out
