True? Yes. Haunting? Yes again.

She is if he was entering other portals!

For the coach or the student?

I’m no employment law expert, but even if the nursing student thing is true it shouldn’t be an issue as long as she’s not underage or a direct employee right? Assuming there hasn’t been any Sherrone Moore-like antics.

Tim Albin left OU last season for a raise but there were also rumors he hated their AD. If that’s true, I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if Smith and the AD also fell out and that spiraled into this whole mess of seemingly unrelated issues.

My guess is it’s a student who was interning with the athletic training staff as part of her nursing studies. If that’s the case, I can see it being a problem.

Why would any truly top of the line college football head coach want the Michigan job right now?

Here’s the story from The Post. OU says Smith used the on-campus hotel to carry on an affair with an undergrad and was recognized there. He admits the relationship but says it wasn’t against the rules and in any event no one saw him with the undergrad. (He admits he was seen with a 40-year-old at the hotel after he broke things off with the undergrad. He also says he was living at the hotel at the time given his divorce, not just using the hotel for trysts.)

Also, this sure sounds like they’re accusing him of coaching while drunk on at least one occasion, though it’s very carefully worded: “participated in alcohol-related conduct that violated university policy and impaired his ability to perform as head coach”

Probably impaired his ability with that college student too!

If I were Smith, I’d sure as hell be taking this to court

He used an on-campus hotel? He couldn’t use a flea-bag hotel on the outskirts of Athens where he would likely not be recognized? Talk about a serious lapse in judgement, although I will say that nurses are a lot fun….. just saying.

His version of the story is that while his divorce was pending, he moved out of the marital home and lived in the hotel. While living in the hotel, he had two relationships (one with the undergrad and one with a woman his own age), neither of which were “cheating,” because he was separated from his wife and in the process of getting divorced. If it’s true that he was living in the hotel, that makes it seem far less shady than using the campus hotel like a by-the-hour love motel.

I will say that the story about living in the hotel tracks with recent divorce filings where he sought permission to use funds from a joint account to purchase a new home.

Don’t know what the policy is at OU, but some universities have total bans on faculty/employees dating students. IIRC, Todd Graham’s unmarried 30 year old son got fired for a relationship with a student when he was an assistant under his dad at ASU.

I drive by some of those places on my way to Devil Mom’s house. Fleas would be the least of your concerns. To me the most surprising bit of that entire story is the assertion that OU does not have a policy about employees dating students. If that’s true, it seems both unwise and behind the times.

LOL now Smith’s lawyer is claiming that school president provided the bourbon to celebrate wins. Amazing. Give this shithole “school” the death penalty already.

If coachin’ ‘ball, sippin’ bourbon, and bangin’ coeds is wrong, I don’t wanna be right.
