Colorado State is the kind of job I could see Chuck leaving us for. It seems unlikely at this point that heāll get a direct pass to the pass to the P4 without flirting with a CFP appearance. However, a Mountain West school with some football tradition like CSU, that can theoretically outspend us in both salary and NIL, might be appealng.

As far as I can tell, heās lived his entire life in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan (plus two years as a GA in Minnesota). Something like Colorado St would be a really weird fit.

Iām not projecting Chuck to CSU or even opining on his candidacy. Itās just the level of job that I think poses the biggest threat.

Heās also spent basically his entire life/career in Ohio. I could see him bolting from Toledo for another G5 job with more resources since heās getting stale at UT, but CSU is a leap.
I think UAB would fall into a similar bucket? I have no idea about what kind of resources they have but with conference mate Memphis competing for the G5 playoff spot Iām sure they arenāt going to completely throw in the towel after Dilfer flopped. If Iām them, two steady, largely successful MAC coaches would be ones to consider.

If you look at LSUās remaining schedule, donāt be surprised if Brian Kelly gets axed. I will shed no tears.

Amid speculation about Florida State coach Mike Norvell and his job security at the school following a fourth straight loss, athletic director Michael Alford said in a statement Monday that a comprehensive review of the football program will happen when the season ends.
Which in plain English means āwe are now accepting resumeās for the HC position at FSU while we figure out how to fund Norvellās buyoutā
