Softball is #1 with Field Hockey very close in terms of national athletic prominence. And non-varsity Sync Skating is in a class by itself. Our women athletes and their coaches are definitely setting the standard right now!

We are #31 in today’s Massey Rankings. The only mid-majors ranked higher are Wichita State and Boston University.

The first RPI drop of the season just came in. Miami is somehow only at 72.
One has to wonder if the RPI formula includes a penalty for being a mid-major.

RPI is pretty much useless. Yes, some of our opponents have been pretty weak, but we don’t get any credit for beating the crap out of them.
Btw, we received 4 votes in this week’s Top 25 poll, tied for #33. We play #6 Georgia twice this week.

That’s the USA Softball poll. The NFCA poll has us quite a bit higher with 16 votes to put us at #28.

Is one considered more “reliable”? Or is it just like the football AP poll and Coaches poll?
NFCA is exclusively coaches, USA Softball is a mix of coaches and media. No huge difference in prestige, just different rankings.

Louisiana, BU, Texas State and San Diego State. We beat the Cajuns in Norman.

We came close to beating OU, beat them H2H, have a much better record, although I think their schedule is stronger. Oh well
