This is probably going to be our biggest pickup in the class so far…waiting for him to announce.
Sounds like another commit on the way. This time OL or DL. So that’s two announcements we’re waiting on. Hopefully we’ll hear something soon.
I think we are waiting for an ATH and a LB to announce…if this is a new commit other than those who haven’t announced, yes could be OL…
Any news on other potential transfers in ? A DL and OL pick up would be great.
One of Miami’s recent commits goes public. Big time commit with 20 D1 offers including UC and Louisville. I believe he will play WR at Miami.
The second to announce to Miami was last night, Michael Popov, OL, Naperville, ILL!! A 6’4" 305-pound OG.
I believe Popov is technically in the 2023 class. It’s a little unclear though. I can’t find much about him online.
According to one of his Twitter posts he is a’23.
Montgomery transferred to a bigger school, so his visibility will definitely increase.
'23-great addition to the class. '24-great addition to the class. Either way, glad to have Popov.
As a past 20 year resident of Naperville,. Pleased to see this commit…Naperville high schools play in the highest division of HS sports in Illinois, and all 4 high schools there are power programs.
Miami is currently listed in Rivals Top 25 for 2024.
Tied for most commits (15) in FBS (with Michigan and Wake Forest).
And above UC…
Miami up to #24 after Khobie Martin and Braylon Isom were given 3 stars. It’s uncommon for Rivals to give 3 stars to a G5 commitment if they were unranked at the time of the commitment.
We got another verbal last night per Coach Bowen. Also we are currently ranked 34th in the country. 13 of our 15 verbals are ranked as 3 stars.
Time to prove we can compete for that spot in the playoffs that NIU and WMU nailed down. Why not us?
Hopefully, we start getting someone lineman in this class on both sides of the ball. So far, just one OL. No interior DL, and just a couple of edge rushers. Sort of a strange class for us so far as usually it seems we nail down OL right at the beginning of the class.
Especially since we have an established pattern now of some of our best older OL upperclassmen going portal on us.
