Pitino went 54-96 in the B1G. Iām not sure heās going to X & O his way to the top of the Big East, and I donāt see how he recruits better than any Xavier coach of recent memory.

There must be so much pressure on these ADs to make a big splash with their hires. Indiana probably did it right, even though a lot of their fans are underwhelmed.
Also the demands and skills needed to be a DI coach are very different from 5+ years ago. Pitino was at Minnesota before NIL/portal stuff got to where it is, some coaches have done better at adapting to it than others. Iād even put Steele in that category, frankly he didnāt work at X but the time/place has worked in his favor for us.

One reason he left UNM was the big change in the Mountain West. All the best basketball schools left for the PAC 12. A big down grade in prestige for the MWC

Wow. Fordham? I know it is the A10 but it is the hopeless part of the A10
no big schools are coming for him at Kentā¦ improve an A10 bottom feeder and your resume looks more appealing
He is also from the New York area and was an assistant there a while back.
Pretty sure Willard to Villanova is going to happen whenever Maryland loses, could be some interesting ripple effects from that one.
As in maybe Terps hire Groce and he takes a good chunk of the roster with himā¦ might be wishful thinking.
