2023 Football Season

Looked it up. We also tied them in ‘92, which is the game I attended. Like most of my family, my uncle was a WVU grad and big donor. I wore a Miami sweatshirt at the WVU booster club lunch and got many nasty looks.

Pat McDermott. true freshman. Along with others here, I was at the game with my (ex)wife, an MSU grad and several other Miami friends. We sat in the same place as Grumpy (sorry I didn’t say hi) and others mentioned here–right in front of Gibson’s (also a true fr) play. Charlie Baggett was a mediocre QB. The pass was 5 yds short but Pat fell so Gibson stepped back a couple yards, caught the ball, and with his speed no one would catch him. Our FG kicker was hurt so an offensive lineman did the kicking. Just not very well. Cost us the game. But those were glorious days.

I have no issue with slot either. The only reason I haven’t suggested it, is I haven’t seen how well he catches the ball. If I were Aveion and were being honest with myself about what gives me the best chance to play professionally at some level, QB probably isn’t that position. If Gabbert remains healthy, I think there is little doubt he is the starting QB. As to who is the backup, time will tell.

Sam Huff was at that lunch.

I was at that 1992 WVU game as well as my sister and brother in law were WVU Law school grads and had season Tickets at the time. A fun game (more so if you were a Miami fan!).

I was at the Purdue game in 75. A pretty dominant physical win over a Boiler team featuring Mike Pruitt at RB. The score indicates how strong that Miami defense was.

Getting back to Kirk Gibson, he personally beat us again in 78 (iirc), when Miami lead with like 2 minutes to go and had MSU backed into a 3rd and 17. Gibson made an incredible catch in double coverage for 18 yards and a first down that eventually lead to the game winning FG ( or maybe a TD, can’t remember even tho I was at that game as well- getting old sucks).

Has anyone heard (or seen) how Rashad Amos is performing this spring? Talented back that was buried on South Carolina’s depth chart.

Not sure, but welcome!

I’ve seen him in a bunch of the social media clips they’ve been putting out throughout the spring. Guess we’ll find out in the fall, but all signs point to him seeing the field sooner rather than later.

Thanks!

CFN predicts Miami going 6-6 again with a win at UMASS . Win at home vs UT but losing at home to Buffalo.

We should go at least 2-2 OOC. I think OU and Toledo will be the toughest teams we play in conference. If our offense improves, we could beat anyone in conference. If we have same offense, 6-6 is fair.

CFN predicts 2-2 OOC and 4-4 MAC. With a new OC lets hope offense is a lot better.

Update on the spring portal. I wonder if Miami will have anyone disillusioned or impatient enough to jump in.

Rejoice, LOL.

6-6 is always a safe bet, with Chuck…hopefully the RBs take step forward and/or surprise and healthy Brett means 8-4 and compelling bowl.

Come on Chuck, year 10?

“Healthy Brett” is a huge key. I would take 9-4 (including a Bowl win).

Anything less than 8-4 regular season would be a bit of a disappointment…I expect 7-5 is more realistic but sure hope it’s not another 6-6 year.

If we stay relatively healthy and do not win 7 games I am going to be very disappointed.

Everyone getting warmed up to once again rationalize going 6-6.
