Worst MAC loss for Chuck

During the 4th quarter we were discussing if this was our worst MAC loss since Chuck has been our Coach. My friend Pete Nolan researched it and losing by 35 was his worst MAC loss in his 11 years here.

So going back a little furthur, it was our worst MAC loss since Nov 29 2013 in Don Treadwell’s final season ( 0-12). We lost to Ball State by 41, 55-14. Showing just how bad we were that year, we also lost by 42 to BG 45-3 and to Buffalo by 37 44-7 earlier in November. That team was very comparable to this year’s Kent squad and we were the worst program in the country. That is what Chuck took over.

Nice assessment, Dick. What I saw on Saturday I felt like a Kent Stste fan

I am so glad I opted against making the drive to Detroit!

I mentioned in the other thread I was embarrassed by the performance and you pretty much sum up why. I’ve traveled all over the country to watch Miami. Often, I’ve watched much more talented teams pound us.

Walking out of Ford Field on Saturday was truly the first time I’ve felt like I got sucker punched. Chuck has never laid a total egg in a MAC game like that.

The only thing that made the drive worth it was that I spent 2 hours afterwards at the Children’s Hospital visiting with a friend and her son, who have been there for several weeks. The football made me wish I had stayed home. It was nice to meet some MHTers as well.

Yes, it was embarrassing. And I felt foolish afterward, having brought my entire family along. No shame in losing, but to get demolished like that, well, it was bad.

On the plus side, we went to a Hungarian restaurant in Detroit after the game, and it was delicious.
