WMU Lands Highest Ranked H.S. Recruit IN Program History

Well, SOMEBODY has to be.

He won’t be there long.

Why is someone of that supposed ability and ranking in 2026 HS class just signing now?

There has to be more to this story.

this is a non story. Guys fall through the cracks all the time, especially small guards in today’s landscape and ranking outside of the top 10-20 is eye of the beholder.

We should be laughing at WMU for cherry picking 1 ranking service and including this in a sentence “and rated higher than any other high school prospect from the state of Michigan.”

=>Kent claiming a big one as well.

Our two outstanding Class of 2027 recruits certainly are also highly ranked

This one is actually impressive and worthy of promotion

Agreed. The Western one is hilarious, but this a legitimately impressive pull by Kent.

Here’s a fun exercise by the way. Go to our recruiting page on 247 and look at our "highest rated) recruits since 247 started. A few names I’ve never heard and I think I follow Miami basketball pretty closely. One thing I noticed is 4 of the top 10 were in the 2009 class. Allen Roberts, Drew McGhee, Drew Kelly, and Orlando Williams. Really thought those guys would do more here. C’est la vie

Never made it to campus or completed his first semester

Blyden and others show that freshman who perform in the mid-major conferences right away can get a big payday. To be honest, if I were that talented I’d have probably prefer going somewhere with playing time to make it a lot easier to get the bag after 1-2 seasons.

Dwain Williams gets an asterisk.

Williams earned all-state honors four times in his career and was tabbed the California Freshman of the Year.

He definitely made it to campus, and I believe transferred end of his first semester. Morehead State I believe.
