Will Miami RedHawks have both an NHL and NBA player drafted this week?

Possibly Peter Suder can go in the NBA draft, Ilya Morozov in the NHL draft.

Both are this week.

Well, Morozov is an easy pick considering he should be a 1st rounder. I’m still guessing Suder is an UDFA. I would love for a team to prove me wrong. Regardless of when/if he gets drafted, the dude is the ultimate winner and I’m not betting against him to eventually reach the ultimate level of pro basketball through a 2-way contract. And if he does suit up for an NBA team somewhere down the line, I’m totally paying extra to get a customized SUDER jersey from the NBA shop.

NBA 2nd round is truly a wild card, so anything is possible. Hopefully Pete is working through a variety of scenarios that are best for him.

There are 60 picks and there were what, like 75ish guys at the combine? I don’t think it’s that far fetched for Pete to go late in second round.

Wait, there are only 2 rounds in the NBA draft? Is that due to roster size and a small “minor league” system?

Reduced to 2 rounds in 1989.

Yes. Second or third round. Prospect lists are wildly inconsistent this year.

Back in the day…(1978), the Bulls drafted Miami’s Randy Ayers (3rd round) and John Shoemaker (6th round).

Randy was drafted ahead of Michael Cooper, Gerald Henderson and others.
