Same for me Lexington born and raised. Only person in my family to not go to UK.
Michigan.
Why Miami? Beats me. That was 56 years ago!
But I did love the campus and liked the idea of a smaller school.
My sister (also Miamian 3 years after me) moved to Phoenix after graduating and was surprised how well known Miami was there. Obviously lots of Ohio transplants helps.
Wooster, Ohio Wesleyan, Oberlin
Decided I wanted a bigger school and to watch D1 athletics
LMU and USD are beautiful campuses, but Chapman…well, I won’t speak ill of a place coworkers attended. Maybe I just have an anti-City-of-Orange bias.
They are definitely nice campuses, but very different to Miami. I liked them when I first saw them but I feel Miami has a much better college feel, the others in comparison don’t feel like a true college campus as nice as they are
Close. Because people watch the stuff I study for the purpose of arousal.
ND, Stanford, Penn, MIT, Cal Tech…but they didn’t choose me so I chose Miami…best 4 years of my life.
Our daughter kept it in the family by picking Miami over Ohio Northern, Wittenberg, and a few others who wanted her for basketball. She had been to Miami so many times she felt comfortable there. She also didn’t want to play basketball any more. I was happy and sad both.
Didn’t apply anywhere else. Sent my test scores to Miami, Wright State, OSU and Kent, but it really didn’t occur to me that Miami might not accept me.
