Tut tut. Initials on a product aren’t the same ie “J&J” who is 150 years old.

I’m talking about Bed Bath & Beyond. All three suffer. Bedroom shit. Bath shit. The ability to go beyond that shit.

Also, if you’re ever in Scottsdale, this place is good and does exactly what it says on the tin.

I am generally annoyed by the recent trend of businesses named with two random words separated by an ampersand. Oxford has several of them, but the old ones like B&D and Mac & Joe’s get a pass because they were established long before this trend took hold.

Brick & Ivy
Pickle & Pig
Bagel & Deli
Mac & Joes

The first names of proprietors get a pass.

Where I live the ampersand brigade are everywhere. It’s comical. And it’s always two esoteric things:
Anchor &Hope
Salt & Straw
Sons & Dayghters
Barnyard & Mayhem

(I made up the last one but you get my point.)

Priceless!

EVERY morning I have a sesame seed or plain bagel with cream cheese.

Dorthy Lane Market has super bagels (New York Style).

I also liked Bruegger’s, but with the Einstein Bros takeover…I’ll wait and see.

Russ&Daughter. Houston Street; lower East Side, NYC.

Montreal’s bagel culture is the best I’ve experienced and Brooklyn has one called Black Seed

I used to hang out with beer and pizza at Al & Larry’s back in 1963-1965…great memories of a bygone era.

Russ & Daughters is really good, and the spreads (cream cheeses, whitefish salad, etc) are great. But for the bagels themselves, I still like Absolute (near Columbia), Murray’s (Greenwich Village), or Bagelworks (67th and 1st near DC#2’s old apartment) better. DC#2 moved to Brooklyn recently, but I haven’t had enough time to develop a bagel scorecard there.

Frequent BagelWorks eater. They’re right around the block from me!

When we visit my in-laws or my in-laws come visit us in Brooklyn there is a Russ & Daughters trip in either direction..we just got my father in law a R&D recipe book which is great.

Ever tried Shapiro’s, Indy? Very good.

drinking coffee out of my CBA mug right now. Agreed, scratches the itch but not the same.

They endorsed by Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir and Robert Hunter?
