Waffle House possibly coming to Oxford?

Looking at the City of Oxford Weekly Reports, and my dreams might finally come true:

“The February 14 meeting also includes a review of the Waffle House plans for
the 5000 block of College Corner Pike.”

Since WH likes to build new, it looks like the best spot will be across from University Motors (formerly Kyger). From a recent Google Maps view from August the land was for sale.

Here we go.

The Waffle House song on the juke box brings back fond memories.

It will never be like Phillips 27, with Weeb Eubank starring in low-budget local commercials telling me the “chicken’s just great”!

I know I’m not the only one who’s noticed this, but it’s high time a 24-hour diner came to Oxford. If someone put one on High Street to get the late night crowd (in addition to students and townies for breakfast and lunch) they could make a killing, though I’m sure this one will do quite well for itself if it comes to fruition.

Until recently Pulley (in Armstrong) was 24 hours. I think they ran into staffing issues. Typically a university cop would hangout for the late night crowd to make sure no one was causing issues.
