For a school like Miami which is turning away candidates how is this cliff affecting us? Fewer out of state etc?
From my understanding, it’s focusing on the 4 Cs of Columbus, Cincy, Cleveland and Chicago, along with reaching out to California, Texas and NY/NJ/CT. The exposure with this year’s MBB team was like a shot of adrenaline for potential families with HS students who may have not been aware of Miami U.
Miami should have an easier time navigating the cliff for in-state students as it is a solid and affordable option with a stronger reputation than a BGSU or Kent, and also appealing to OOS (specifically Illinois and NJ/NY/CT) students who may not have a good non-flagship option in their home state.
