8pm = empty crowd
5000 OR FEWER
Well crap, we fly out early the next day. I was. hoping I would get a good nights sleep. Now with decompression time, time spent berating Chuck, and seeing us throw the corner fade every time I close my eyes, it will be a short night.
4998 Who wants our seats on the 50?
8 pm start means if I go I get home at 1:45 (hopefully).
That’s if I don’t hit a deer while driving thru the corn and beans to get from Oxford to I-70!
ESPN here I come.
I know it’s exposure but MACTION stinks.
Skins-you can sleep on the plane!
Don’t forget about the delayed read handoffs we all love sooooo much:)
Along with the corner fades of course!
Maybe they can add some “AI fans or AI students” into the stands to make it look nicer?
Why are you driving off-road through the corn and bean fields to get to I-70? SH 732 or SH 73/US 127 have perfectly serviceable asphalt surfaces.
I bet you could totally CGI that in, and really not a bad idea.
Hey people - this isn’t just a time change, the broadcast has been moved to the main channel - ESPN, better than the streaming channels.
Traditionally, Miami students have loved to play to the cameras when it is on a mainstream channel.
Miami should make sure the students know that it is on the big channel - maybe the turnout will be better than usual!
Apparently some of that is already being done, but most broadcasters favor the closer up shot, so if you’re attending, jump around and act goofy and maybe you’ll go viral when they pan in on you. ![]()
Like most, I’ll grumble about 8pm weeknight games, but its hard to complain when its for flagship ESPN.
ESPN may not be what it was 20 years ago, but still is a great spot to land. Crowd still probably will be a bad look, but this isn’t playing on a Tuesday buried on ESPN+ at least.
We’ve had 8pm start times on ESPN+ in the past. I’ll take the flagship.
The next night, Toledo plays at Sac State at 7pm
ET. That is a 4pm kickoff on a Wednesday in Sacramento. That MAC is competing with junior high football with that schedule.
Have you seen Sac State play this year? Seems about right.
I’m more concerned that a national television audience will be subjected to our team this year. I’m never going to say no to ESPN proper but I wish weren’t down to QB3 with a lousy secondary.
Btw this is scheduled for Election Day, the third election in a row where Miami has played the same night.
