It was 1973…
I was at the Purdue game, the Ohio game and the UC game. Miami scored against UC as I was sitting down in my bleacher seat. That was all the scoring for the day.
“These were my Miami years: 1973 to 1977 and football was king! What wonderful memories at Miami Field with all our friends. I was on the dance team the last 3 years and being part of all that excitement was something I’ll forever cherish!” - SD
“I played for a couple coaches that were Miami players during those years….Tom Hetrick and Jack Glowik. Good times.” - KS
“I was a senior at Edgewood HS. The 74/75 Miami team came to Edgewood to practice the week before the Kent St game because they thought KS was recording their practice. Miami gave our football team tickets to the Kent St game. Great memories!” -GB
“Proud to have been a part of that historic run as a student member of the sports medicine/athletic training staff!! Love & Honor!” -BM
“Randy Walker loved to tell stories about those great teams.” -BR
“This team needs an ESPN 30 for 30! I don’t think we’ll ever see a non power 5 have a run like this again. Look at the players that made it to the NFL and became successful coaches. Love and honor!” -DW
“I was there for those years. Hubby and some of his Brothers in Alpha Delta Phi traveled to the Tangerine Bowls after buying hats, scarves, and gloves. Good memories.” -CP
“It was damn cold that first one (Tangerine Bowl in Gainesville). Those were my three years cheerleading (32-1-1) and I’ve always said because I started at the top, I’ve been able to be a Cleveland sports fan and deal with disappointment more easily.” -TS
“Bill Blind and the late Jim Colla were my suite mates in Hahne Hall their senior and my sophomore year. Bill was a defensive end who played ferociously as a run stopper. Returning to the suite after games, one could tell he left it all on the field. The players referred to HC Bill Mallory as, “The Man”. Bill was approached by the Memphis Southmen of the WFL following the '73 season. Wisely, he said no thanks. A fabulous era to be an MU student and sports fan. Go 'Skins!” -GM
“Remember the 1974 team coming to Kentucky and beating the Wildcats. Brad Cousino was a one man wrecking crew. Believe he had 23 tackles. One of the most outstanding individual performances that I ever witnessed!” -RW
