Fair points above. Every Coach has their own values and goals that help guide their career decisions. Coach Kumar seems like the type with a lot of ambition who wants to win at very high levels of college softball, perhaps the MAC is just not seen a major enough to attract a hire a big time program. Wish her well, though really hoping we land a nice hit on the replacement hire.

The Big 10 just got tougher with the addition of perennial national softball powers UCLA, Washington and Oregon.

Well said. Maybe she’s like “wow, resource wise, columbi has it all and I think I could win it all here.” True, late at night, when she can’t sleep and is thinking out loud at half past two, she knows the pizza is likely worse, but the bar overall is low to win big, so she forgoes the institutionalized tasting crust and third rate toppings. Why not her to change the history of softball? Btw, we will get a great coach here. I’m certain of it.

Coach Kumar shared a CMH to AUS to SNA trip with my parents today. Pretty sure I was the only person at the baggage claim who recognized her. (The Ohio State softball gear was a giveaway.)
Anyways I managed not to heckle her in front of my 78-year-old dad and 9-year-old daughter. Please clap.
