Tailgating options

For 25 years my wife and I have been tailgating in the Millett West(big) parking lot. Our first 15 were in the northwest(townee) corner. Then, when the athletic department wanted to create a better tailgating atmosphere by creating the Red Zone we reluctantly got on board and moved. When the Red Zone went away we moved back.

In the last two years we have had instances where, in spite of arriving over 3 hours before kickoff, we couldn’t get into the Millett lot. We are seeking a better solution. We are considering both Hannon and Millett east but we have a 20’ by 10’ tent. With two kids at Miami we may have 20 or more people attending and we are also very unenthusiastic about leaving the atmosphere of the big lot. The optimal solution would be reserved spaces in Millett west but the AD’s office is not willing to do so at this time.

What do the posters on this board do?

Move to the East Lot. The atmosphere is great though quieter than the West Lot. Additionally, there is enough grass to accommodate your tent.

Hold up now. Though there may be plenty of grass, legal weed in Ohio just passed the ballot, and as such, all the rules are still being figured out. Even though you’re prolly talking about ditch weed, just be careful!

Are there any other posters who have had simmilar experiences in the last couple of years where they were unable to get in the main lot?

Do we have any Hannon residents and, if so, do you like it?

Happened to us this year, and we were several hours early. Ended up in a lot down the hill, and it was fine.
