G5 should basically tell ESPN and CBSSN to FRO with their BS, and sign up with AppleTV or Youtube. The G5 signs crappy deals with ESPN/CBSSN but doesn’t realize that content is king. I can watch App State take on Georgia Southern or watch a 30 for 30 on Venus & Serena; as a sports fan, what is more appealing for me? Apple and Youtube can afford an extra $10M per G5 team as a rounding error, basically.
I am glad he is speaking out and is not too afraid of the Power 4. The Big Whatever and not so geographical Southeastern association have done a lot of good for their conferences, however I’m not sure they have ever once had the wherewithal to lookout for the greater good for all FBS level teams. Especially those outside their 2 groups of schools. Not that they had needed to for a while, but lately they have wanted to be leaders of all and only looked out for a handful.
As a sports fan, Venus and Serena are very interesting. But there are other far less interesting 30 for 30s.
