So, apparently Buffalo tomorrow

I commented during the game that watching Grant I was having Nike flashbacks. Yes he had 20 plus points, (6/21) but his shot selection, and failing to distribute the ball, can at times be a detriment. I realize of course we need his scoring, and he can get his own shot but I contrast his play to Lairy. Lairy gets his points but also does a really nice job of distributing the ball as well. That said, Grant had 6 assists to Lairy 5. It feels like at times Grant is auditioning for his next school. Hate to say all this after a win, but that is what it felt like at times.

I hear ya…but Dae only had maybe two or three moments where u scratched head…

I would not blame him if he was auditioning…if I was as good as him…I would like a real shot at March Madness if it happens.

Not sure Dae Dae would be showcased as much on another team…but if he played on one that had one real inside threat…they’d be dancing.

I may have been what appears to be harsh, but to me, this team has little margin for error, or wasted possessions. And when Grant in particular forces shots, those are wasted possessions. I am not ready to say based on this win alone that this team is about to go on a 7-0 streak in MAC play. Matter of fact, while I hope that happens, I doubt it does. We have already lost games this year we should have won. As far as the rotation, I would like to see similar to yesterday against CMU but add in Harrison if he is back, and perhaps White. I really do want to see more of Williams and Avance. I liked our starting 5 yesterday. And if Harrison is back, that means less Eli, and less Eli is always a good thing.

Miami has a fair amount of defense to clean up…but a lot of good stuff on O yesterday.

The MAC will be rough as always…Toledo is coming to town and they are destroying everyone. Akron is solid…going to BG we’ve had some success, but BG looks good.

Anyone know the last time Miami’s mens :basketball: team scored 58 points in the second half of a game? That’s an amazing stat of the day!

Grant had 6 assists, that would have been a month’s total for Nike. Dae Dae’s poor shooting percentage was the direct result of playing 40 minutes against defensive specialists whose only real job was too slow down Grant. Tired legs. I guess Coach felt a tired Dae Dae was better than our other options.

Really, Grant was just doing his job in our offense. We run an offense which really would benefit from a strong scoring post player, but we do not have that guy. Thus any time we get towards the end of the shotclock, we rely on Grant or Lairy to create a shot for themselves or someone else. They are the only two guys who have actually demonstrated that they have that ability. Maybe Avavce will become that kind of a threat. ICL can create for others, but not for himself. His scoring game is as a catch and shoot guy.

Basketball is not a equal opportunity game. In baseball, every player gets his turn to bat. I basketball you want the ball in the hands of the guys who can create for others and for themselves.

Also, Dae Dae only had one turnover. Not reminiscent of Nike.
