Sierra Morrow transfers to Miami through the portal

This happened a month ago while I was in Nevada and did not notice it then. Morrow is a 6-1 center, who played two years at two different Junior colleges and was a second team All American the second year. She then transferred to Bradley and started 20 games and averaged 25 minutes per game. Miami will be her 4th different school in 4 years. I think she has 2 years of eligibility remaining taking into account a covid season.

Last year at Bradley she averaged 6.4ppg, 5.4 rpg, and 1.6 blocks per game, which was 70th nationally. All 4 of the girls who played center for us last year are returning as far as I know, but center was our weakest position all season. I would just say you don’t add a player from the transfer portal unless you think they can upgrade your talent at that position, so I would think she potentailly will play a lot.

There has been no announcement of any other roster changes, so probably no one has left the program. We announced signing a 5-10 freshman forward last Fall and this transfer center this Spring. The roster has not been updated at all on MURedHawks. com.

We also have added a new assistant coach, who has a nice resume, but is not what we were expecting, in that she is not a specialist in working with post players. I certainly hope that have a plan that will work for that area as it was a major issue last year.

There is enough talent and experience on this roster for us to have a strong team next year. At the end of the year I am hoping for/expecting a contract extension if we have a good year, or a new staff if things do not turn around.
