And the four corners shows up in Pittsburgh! Night off for Tyler?

Went to see Waltz play last night at Thomas More. I live in Cincy so easy drive.
Honestly the first game was better. Great Crossing in Georgetown, KY has Malachi Moreno going to Kentucky and Vince Dawson (former Miami recruit) going to Morehead St. vs Cathedral in Indianapolis with a kid going to Notre Dame. Wild, OT game that was in the high 80’s.
As far as Waltz. Honestly, super hard to judge. Spire is stacked and they killed St. X. He had some nice drives/finishes. I would say he had 10. He didn’t shoot much and sat for long stretches. What I would say is he looks like a Steele player. Tall (I’d say 6’7 is real or close to it) and skilled. Can shoot and handle. Moves the ball. But again, hard to evaluate because the game was so lopsided and he didn’t get much run.
Side note, they played with a shot clock. Does anyone who follows HS basketball know if this is a thing now? I’m guessing it was specific to this tournament, but just wondering. I’ve always thought it was asinine that HS doesn’t use a shot clock.
Some states have been adding shot clocks. Most AAU games use them now as well. The issue I’ve heard is teams being concerned about games needing to be stopped because the clock operators have another thing to mess up. IMO, they’re going to mess up. Look at Miami. I think we’ve had a shot clock issue every single home game. Just blow the whistle, fix it, and resume. (Miami really needs to clean up their clock operation)
I run the clock at my son’s games because it’s ancient and no one else would touch the thing. It’s a hot mess. I told the ref once it would almost be better not to stop it. Games would be smoother. He agreed!
I didn’t see the whole game, but he was solid. Hit a couple mid range pullups. A three. He’s physically very mature. That’s what stood out more than anything.
“The team is 14-1 so far this season following a big rivalry win against Mt. Lebanon and a big part of their success is because of 6’10" forward and Miami (OH) commit Tyler Robbins.”
