we are getting an 11 seed. No chance of getting a 10 or lower…zero. Whether we had won or not. With not winning the tourney, we will be in Dayton for a play in, errr, First Four game.
I think we’ll be one of the last four in as an 11 in Dayton.
It really is, it lets the pro/anti-Miami side have their narratives depending on the result. Any loss would let haters (falsely) claim that we were frauds and didn’t deserve the spot. A win and we have proof that we deserved to be there even if we lose in the first round.
=>I am very confident miami is in and likely to Dayton.
Worst case scenario today is Miami is 1st 4 out and gets #1 seed in NIT. Result is Miami get all 3 games at Millett and then travels 100 miles to Hinkle Field House for NIT Final 4.
All the while becoming the #1 story in America over the screw job.
Hoping this is for informational purposes only and won’t matter for Miami - The NIT final is in Gainbridge Fieldhouse. They’re hosting NIT, D2, and D3 championships all on same day (Sunday of Final Four weekend).
Maybe? Maybe not? But I don’t live my life expecting the worst to happen (not arguing that you do just saying in general). I’d rather enjoy the ride and if my heart gets broken then so be it.
We’ve carried the sport for at least a month. Everyone is curious to see if we are legit or not. We are THE story of the season. How’s that for metrics, miserable dorks online?
I refuse to believe that after one game, a top 20 team in both polls all of a sudden has to play to get into the tournament (yeah yeah yeah I know those games technically count).
But I’m mostly confident because…this has never happened before. There is no precedent for a team like us. EVERYONE is just guessing. No one knows for sure who or what we are. Personally I think this helps us greatly. We know what Mizzou and SMU and SDSU are and that is meh at best.
We are eyeballs. That matters. 9 seed. We’ve talked our shit and exposed the corruption of NET so the Sackman Guarantee is an 8-9 game aqainst an average big boy and then they tell us to go away by feeding us to a 1 (or maybe we just go ahead and Beat Duke to solidify being Earth’s Team). Win win for everyone.
Positive vibes only. Dust off those dancin’ shoes. You’ll need them looking good on Thursday or Friday.
I think we make it as 11 seed but no play in. We are up to 37 in the WAB. We might finish higher than St Louis and Nc State
Ya know, I was once datin’ a girl from Eaton. Err… I mean …
We are in. 11 seedish.
And we are 33 in the old rpi. The only reason it is even close is the stupid and unfair NET which is totally biased to the big schools.
If they send us to Dayton, I’m going to be super pissed.
We’re 28 in SOR and 37 in WAB, which the committee has said will be two metrics they look closely at this year. Can’t imagine that we drop any further than high 20s or low 30s in the AP poll after the loss.
The bracketologists like Lunardi haven’t liked us all season, but we have no frame of reference for how the committee feels about us. The midseason check in was only the top 16 teams.
I wouldn’t be shocked by a 9 seed. I also wouldn’t be shocked by us being completely left out. There’s 0 historical precedent for our resume.
If we are out, it means the regular season is worthless for 80% of the college basketball teams. They would set a bad precedent if they leave us out. Even if they make us a play in team in Dayton that is a bum deal. We are in and should not be in Dayton.
It would hurt the sport. To admit that.
We in.
Agree we are in, Yellow. But they are likely to stick us in Dayton. Oh well…just gotta win!
We are playing with the house’s money after the last two decades we’ve had. Just enjoy the ride.
My prediction is that we play Auburn in Dayton, made for TV. Looking at Bracket Matrix and who was the most accurate last year, thinking they factored in WAB heavily, we’re right on the line of Dayton.
Dayton championship efforts falls short. VCU prevails.
P.S. And I’d be shocked if Auburn gets in, but ya never know!
I don’t disagree MZ. I’ll be mad if they put us with Auburn - I don’t think they should be in - but they love doing things for ratings, and then pretending it was a coincidence.
First Four vs Missouri
That is my prediction. Maybe vs. Texas.
11 v 11 matchup
