My favorite player!! Scoop Smith at the mic!
Why is he not involved in more plays?
Good question, but maybe given his size they don’t want to expose him to injury.
I really hope Scoop runs track in the Spring after spring football practice. His best high school 100 m time would have put him in the top 8 at the 2026 MAC T&F Championship meet.

A little perspective from our friendly Gemini bots:
- Elite College Benchmark: Reaching 21.5 mph puts a player among the fastest speedsters in college football. For instance, sports tech tracking data from Reel Analytics showed that only 10 players across all of college football hit the 21.5 mph threshold through the first eight weeks of the season.
- NFL Comparison: To put 21.5 mph in perspective, only a select group of NFL players cross that mark during regular season play. Players who routinely peak at or above 21.5–22 mph (such as Jahmyr Gibbs or Brian Thomas Jr.) are considered game-breaking deep threats
