Shaq is general manager for football at Sac State.
It makes the most sense for the MWC or PAC. Travel would be brutal for them to come to the MAC although the BIG10 does this. Merging the MWC with the MAC and adding NDSU and Sac State could be interesting with pods and divisions and might sway UCONN to join the “Coast to Coast Conference” (CCC). We would be the only conference to have a urology university division with Ball State and Sac State. TV money is key for longevity.
The MAC holds all the cards here (for the first time ever). If Sac State wants to go FBS this badly, we should squeeze them. Something like they are responsible for paying for chartered flights for the away games for all MAC members in addition to whatever joining fee. If there’s a way for them to join without increasing costs on us, especially if it results in more money for us, then sure, they can join.
The MAC doesn’t need them at all, but we’ll take their money if they are giving it away.

You are right, the MAC does not really need them. 10 million is really very little to each school. Long term, how much revenue from TV does adding them to a conference really add?
