I wish I could go to the Championship game. I guess we use a box truck to haul equipment up to Detroit. I’ll definitely be driving the trailer to the bowl game!
I booked my flight on Oct 26.
I gassed my car up yesterday and made a trial run to the Motor City. Seemed to be no detours that would affect I 75 traffic. Admittedly I just drove by Ford Field on the way to our sons, but it was good practice. Now just beat BSU please.
ESPN has been wrong about the MAC scenarios all week:
2025 college football conference championship scenarios
MAC
Toledo clinches a spot in the championship game with:
- Win (Saturday)
Miami (OH) clinches a spot in the championship game with:
- Win (Saturday) and Central Michigan win (Saturday)
ESPN thinks Toledo owns the 3-team tiebreaker. It does not. The WWL’s failure to understand the scenarios was on full display when the broadcasters in yesterday’s OU-UB game announced that Kent’s win eliminated OU, which it did not. The MAC had to correct them during a commercial break.
So unless Miami loses, Toledo can’t get in? I don’t care who we play in the MACC, just trying to get a handle on this.
Correct
The fact Candle gets shut out does make me happy!
=>Ladies and Gents,
The road to the MAC Championship is I-75 North.
Decided today to drive up to Detroit on Friday afternoon. Any recommendations for hotels?
I stayed at the Renaissance Center last year. It’s pricey but there were a lot of Miami fans. I learned the hard way about the downtown Detroit Christmas celebration going on. Lots of people and stuff going on in the middle of downtown
You stayed there because you are a trueRenaissance Man.
Lately we’ve have been staying at the David Whitney, an Autograph Collection by Marriott property, if we’re going to Ford Field, Comerica Park or Little C’s Arena. Not cheap but very walkable. Also sits on both the QLlne and People Mover Line if that’s of interest.
Wish I could be at the MACC, but my holiday travel plans take me back to Ohio a week later.
But, I’ll be watching!
Bowl attendance always a possibility, especially if near Florida.
Miami is renting a charter bus to Detroit on Saturday morning. Bus leaves Millett at 545 am. For students, ticket to game + the bus ride is $21 TOTAL. Hope Miami gets a good turnout of students for this one!
i’m also planning on driving from Chicago to the game on Saturday, trying to find a good boutique hotel.
I will be there with my younger son - flying in from Palm Springs
My sister and I took advantage of this when I was in school. We went up in 2004, the first year Ford Field hosted. I believe I paid $20 for the game ticket and bus ride. That was a great deal then, but $21 in 2025 is incredible.
When I was a senior in 2023 it was $5 for the ticket and $20 for the bus ride but an alumni ended up paying for students bus tickets so it only ended up costing $5
